Hot Streak Meets Brick Wall Defense
Washington has won four straight, and Rodney McDoom would like everyone to stop bringing up Week 1. Too bad. The Eagles strangled the Commanders 17-3 in the opener, and NBAman619's defense hasn't loosened its grip since. It's allowing 15.1 points a game, 4th in the league.
Philly arrives 6-1 but a little grumpy after a 17-6 home loss to Dallas, a rare night when the offense forgot to show up. Washington, meanwhile, is cooking: 38 at San Francisco, 31 on the Giants, 25.5 points a game overall. On paper the offenses are twins, separated by about a point.
So it's the old question: does the hot hand beat the better defense? Washington gives up 19.7 a game, 10th, and that's the gap. The Commanders need a shootout. The Eagles have spent seven weeks proving they don't do shootouts unless they feel like it.
Philly's defense already solved Washington once, and a four-game streak doesn't change the film.
